RAM 2500 has more choices
Redesigned from the ground up, the Dodge RAM 2500 trucks are all new for 2007. The new RAM 2500 is built on a new podium, stiffer than before for better ride and handling. The exterior styling is all new and a new interior offers the buyer many more options.
After a number of updates including the Mega Cab for 2006, the 2007 Dodge RAM 2500 obtains a new 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo-diesel High Output engine with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The other choice of engines include a 5.9L heavy duty Cummins Turbo Diesel, and a 5.7L HEMI V8.
The three-quarter-ton heavy-duty RAM 2500 pickup offers a Regular cab, a Quad cab, and a Mega cab option. All trim levels give you the option to choose from either a rear-wheel drive (RWD) or a four-wheel drive (FWD). The various trims are ST, SLT, Sport, TRX4, Laramie, and Power Wagon.

Powerful engines and strong performance
|
|
The RAM 2500 model provides a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine. The HEMI engine is the ever great engine in the market. A 5.7L HEMI Magnum V-8 is less expensive to build than an overhead cam engine, but produces comparable power. The blend of 345 horsepower and 375 lb-ft torque produce impressive towing (24,000 lbs) and payload (12200 lbs) capacities.
The 5.7-liter, 16-valve Hemi V8 engine, with power directed to the wheels by a 6-speed manual transmission comes standard with all cabs. Optional engines are the 5.9-liter and 6.7-liter Cummins inline 6-cylinder turbocharged diesels mated to a 6-speed manual or to a 4-speed automatic or to a 6-speed automatic transmission of your choice.
Two-wheel-drive models ride on a short-arm and long-arm front suspension with a sway bar, while four-wheel-drives utilize a multi-link setup; all trims feature a live rear suspension with leaf springs. Each model features a 160.5-inch wheelbase.

Massive space and size
|
|
Its massive size is immediately apparent. While the Regular can be equipped with the available premium eight-foot cargo bed (98.3 inches), the Mega cab can easily fit a six foot box (76.3). The Quad cab fits both.
With a ground clearance of 7.1 inches, this chrome-grilled, big-rig pick up will look bodacious in the road. Front or back, everything is oversized and comfortable, with quality plastics, supportive seats, and acres of room for all extremities.
The full-size doors also aid comfortable entry and exit. The layout and access is simple and easy. It looks tough and rugged combined with a style and class that capture your senses.

A vivacious drive
|
|
RAM 2500 engages a quick acceleration. It is also remarkably quiet inside the cab. The seating is good. Sitting high above the traffic in RAM 2500 allows you to get a good view of the road. This big truck meets the needs of all those who require a cab for serious duty.
Overall, the Dodge RAM 2500 proves itself as a capable and comfortable BIG truck. With capable brakes, light steering, and a comfortable acceleration, the RAM 2500 lets you enjoy an enthralling drive while you may be working.

Safe and sturdy
|
|
The RAM 2500 Cab's 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine was named as one of Ward's 10 Best Engines for 2007. For the year 2007, the RAM model gave more emphasis to the safety improvements.
While considering braking power requirements, RAM introduced huge calipers and rotors of up to 13.9 inches. Even if it lacks the passenger-side airbag, the 2007 RAM 2500 is designed with better safety features compared to its predecessor.
The standard safety features include engine immobilizer, multi stage driver and front passenger air bags, and crumble zones. Supplemental side curtain air bags, remote keyless entry, and next generation multistage front air bags are optional safety features for all RAM 2500 trims.
